passengers.The Barossa Valley is Australia’s most important wine region. This picturesque valley, sprinkled with quaint towns and villages is a feast for the eye as well as the pallet. Your day will be spent with an expert wine guide exploring the wine, wineries and lovely countryside, which make this area so famous. Your guide will pick you up from your Adelaide accommodation and take you through the scenic Adelaide Hills as you make your way towards the Barossa Valley, which lies just over an hour from the heart of Adelaide. Your day in the Barossa will include visits to a variety of wineries, large and small, to introduce you to the major wine styles of the region and allow you to concentrate on those wines which you most prefer. You will also have the opportunity to discover some of the local produce, as well as the history and culture of this historic region. Your day includes morning tea and lunch at a delightful winery restaurant, both allowing you glimpses of local life and produce. | Your guide will meet you in Adelaide and
take you on a picturesque route into the McLaren Vale wine region where
you will have morning tea and visit one of the premium local wineries,
before proceeding south towards the coastal town of Victor Harbor.
Immediately to the north of Victor Harbor you will visit Urimbirra
Wildlife Sanctuary for a very special treat. Urimbirra is a
home to many very native Australian animals, including koalas,
kangaroos, wombats, dingoes and even crocodiles. Lunch at a
restaurant within view of the sea provides an opportunity to
relax. After lunch you will explore parts of the southern coast of
the peninsula including Port Elliot. You will visit Lake
Alexandrina and the floodplain of the Bremer River and visit one of
Australia’s oldest family owned wineries in the Langhorne Creek wine
region. Your return journey to Adelaide will take you through the
pioneering country town of Strathalbyn, originally settled by Scottish
migrants, the Mount Lofty Ranges town of Mount Barker, and thence to the
city via the freeway through the gum tree studded Adelaide hills to
complete your day of wine, water and wildlife experience. Return
