About the Hunter Resort Country Estate Winery ...
  • Blue Tongue Brewery
The Blue Tongue Boutique Brewery opened in January 2004 and makes four boutique beers. All that separates you from the brewery is a glass wall behind the contemporary bar where guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere including a pool table. There is a full flavoured Premium Lager, a Hunter Bitter, the Summer Wheat, and a truly unique alcoholic Ginger Beer. All beers are available on tap at the brewery, with bottled product from the Cellar Door.

  • Winery Tours
Daily Winery tours: 11 am and 2 pm
Not to be missed is the daily comprehensive winery tour to experience how wine is actually made...right from the grapevine to bottle!
The on site winery is the largest and most advanced in the Hunter Valley, crushing some 6500 tonnes of grapes each year and producing around 6 million litres of wine.  The Wine Tasting Cellars are open everyday.

  • Wine School
The onsite Hunter Valley Wine School promises an education in wine daily at  9 am. The two hour certificate course starts with a walk through the vineyard to learn how and why a grapevine grows.  Then it’s off to the crusher, and into the Winery.  See the huge vats, the Potter Tanks, the filtration equipment, and the largest Rotovat in the Hunter.  From there, the tour moves through into the Cask Hall, and on into the Wine Tasting Cellars.  Guests are then taken through a structured tasting of wines. What are the grape varieties? How are they different? What does one look for? What about the bouquet, taste, and colour?
