MORE DETAILS about Wilderness and Outback in NSW

Vibrant Sydney is the linchpin of this diverse state.    Even if you are staying in the heart of the city it is still possible to have a taste of Wilderness if you have a day or two to spare.     New South Wales is Australia's  most populated state, however a variety of remote experiences are possible away from the bright lights of the large towns along the coast.     A few hours drive south of Sydney is the national capital of Canberra, located within the relatively tiny ACT (Australian Capital Territory).
In the very north of the state, near the Queensland border, is the lovely and relatively uncommercialised Tweed Valley.
