Itinerary
Day 1
Depart Hobart and travel to Mt Field National Park and Russell Falls, where you walk alongside the world's largest flowering trees and the tallest hardwoods .  Travel to Derwent Bridge and Lake St Clair, then follow the Lyell Highway to Queenstown via the King William Range and Victoria Pass, for overnight accommodation at Queenstown. (D)

Day 2
Today will be spent in the wilderness rainforest area of the famous West Coast.  Travel into the World Heritage area and see Tasmania's best unspoilt wilderness.  4WD tracks and walks in the wilderness take up most of this day and then return to Queenstown or Strahan (pictured) for overnight accommodation.  (B,D)

Day 3
This morning you can choose to take the Gordon River Cruise (own expense) if you wish.  This will take you up the Gordon River to see spectacular scenery and reflections of the true wilderness rainforest.  Walk through the rainforest at Heritage Landing before returning to Strahan.  Visit Montezuma Fall, the tallest in Tasmania, involving soft 4 wheel driving along an abandoned railway line and then a short walk to the falls.  In the afternoon, if time allows, travel out to see Ocean Beach and the mutton bird rookeries, then return to Strahan (pictured) to see the sights and overnight accommodation.  (B,D)

Day 4
Today travel back along the Lyell Highway taking in more wilderness.  See Nelson Falls (pictured) and take short walks through the forest.  After lunch, trek to the old town of Hamilton to see historic sandstone buildings before arriving back in Hobart and finishing at around 5.30 pm.  (Drop off in Launceston can also be arranged.)
