These two small group, one day tours from Hobart give you a really good taste of the wild side of Tasmania.

Taste of Wild Tasmania

Departs:  Daily at 8.45 am from central Hobart hotels with a minimum of two clients
Returns:  Around 5.30 pm

Tasmanian Devil First of all you will visit the Bonorong Wildlife Park where you will see Tasmanian Devils and wallabies before travelling on to Mt Field National Park.  Here, take an easy walk past tall swamp gums and through rainforest  to the beautiful cascades of Russell Falls.   After lunch travel to Mount Tim Shea, overlooking the Florentine Valley and World Heritage Area before driving back to Hobart.
Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a hat, sunburn cream, insect repellent, water container, some warm clothes and a waterproof jacket.  Regardless of the season, it can be cold in the mountains.

Mount Field National Park and Mt Tim Shea

Russell Falls, Mount Field National ParkTravel through the peaceful Derwent Valley to Mount Field National Park. After morning tea drive to Lake Dobson, where you may wish to do the short Pandani Grove rainforest walk. Then to the double cascade of Russell Falls, the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania. Lazy and gentle in dry weather, white thunder after rain. The path to the falls is sealed and level, quite safe for wheelchairs or take the Tall Trees walk, takes you through forest that features the world’s tallest species of flowering plant, magnificent swamp gums. After lunch head out to Mount Tim Shea, which overlooks the Florentine Valley and the World Heritage Area and then back to Hobart.
