Hobart to Huon |
Departs: Daily at 8.30
am from Hobart hotels with a minimum of two persons
Returns: Around 5.00 pm
Departing your city hotel, you leave by way of the historic Constitution dock area, Salamanca Place and Battery Point before making
your way towards the dry eucalypt forest areas. Travelling along the shores of the Huon
River,
pass through rural farming and grazing land. Pause briefly at the wooden boat centre where
you can see first hand the manufacture of hand built wooden craft by master craftsman.
Continuing on, climb into the range pausing briefly at Geeveston Forest and heritage centre where
you can see some of the unique timber products produced by the master craftsman.
Passing through the dry forest areas, arrive at the spectacular Tahune Forest Airwalk
where you
can walk high above and through the tree tops some 20 metres above the forest floor.
Your guide provides an interpretive walk before a barbeque lunch.
This afternoon you return along the forest roads, calling in at the impressive big tree before returning to Hobart through the Ranelagh and around the base of Mount Wellington.

Departing your city hotel,
you leave by way of the historic Constitution dock area, Salamanca Place and Battery Point.
Then across the Tasman Bridge to Sorell and on to the Forestier and
Tasman Peninsulas.

tessellated pavement, Tasman Arch, The Blowhole and the ruggedly beautiful coastline around Devil's Kitchen. |
Rejoining the vehicle after a short stroll, continue on to the historic
former penal colony of Port Arthur (also pictured at top of page).
The settlement was created to put fear into the minds of those unfortunate enough to be sent there.
Visit the ruins of the settlement whilst hearing the tales of the hardships suffered by the convicts.
Board a short cruise around the harbour, and enjoy a light lunch before returning to the vehicle bound for Hobart.
Arrive back in the city at around 5.00 pm.

Taste of Wild Tasmania
|
Departs:
Daily at 8.45 am from central Hobart hotels with a minimum of two
clients
Returns: Around 5.30 pm
First of all you will visit the Bonorong Wildlife Park where you
will see Tasmanian Devils and wallabies before travelling on to Mt
Field National Park. Here, take an easy walk past tall swamp
gums and through rainforest to the beautiful cascades of
Russell Falls. After lunch travel to Mount Tim Shea,
overlooking the Florentine Valley and World Heritage Area before
driving back to Hobart.
Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a hat, sunburn cream, insect
repellent, water container, some warm clothes and a waterproof
jacket. Regardless of the season, it can be cold in the
mountains.

Mount Field National Park and Mount Tim Shea |
Departs:

Returns: Around 5.30 pm
Travel
through the peaceful Derwent Valley to Mount Field National Park.
After morning tea drive to Lake Dobson, where you may wish to do
the short Pandani Grove rainforest walk. Then to the double
cascade of Russell Falls, the most photographed waterfall in
Tasmania. Lazy and gentle in dry weather, white thunder after
rain. The path to the falls is sealed and level, quite safe for
wheelchairs or take the Tall Trees walk, takes you through forest
that features the world’s tallest species of flowering plant,
magnificent swamp gums. After lunch head out to Mount Tim Shea,
which overlooks the Florentine Valley and the World Heritage Area
and then back to Hobart.
