| Departs: Daily from Cairns t Your naturalist guide will meet you at your Cairns accommodation. Then drive north along the scenic route to Mossman. Lush farmland contrasts with seascape as you approach the Daintree River. Time for short morning tea break prior to an informative river cruise - learn of estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests and wildlife. Ascend the Alexandra Range and pause for a panoramic view of World Heritage tropical rainforest merging with the azure Coral Sea. Experience the rainforest intimately on a elevated national park boardwalk. Accurate interpretations of flora and fauna will be given with ample time for photographs as you search for the elusive, rare and totally unique Southern Cassowary and other wildlife species within this particular habitat.
Enjoy a barbecue lunch with freshly prepared salads and a cold drink
from the bar. Your 4WD vehicle then travels along the Bloomfield Track
to pristine Emmagen Creek and time for a refreshing rainforest stream
swim. Look out for fish and turtles in the creek, butterflies and exotic
birds in the trees and indulge in tropical fruit, a complimentary glass
of wine and a cup of traditional billy tea, all of which enhance the
tranquil surroundings. At Cape Tribulation Beach (pictured) there is a usually time to swim in the Coral Sea (seasonal) or stroll along the beach and boardwalk to the photographers' platform overlooking the mountains and coast where the 'Rainforest meets the Reef'. After a short afternoon refreshment stop, cross the Daintree River by cable ferry (as pictured at top of page) and begin your journey back to Cairns. Children are 0 - 14 years Truly Ref. 181 |

am Returns: 5.30 pm Your
tour starts this morning as you climb Lake Morris Road, only a few
minutes from Cairns itself. Stop for a panoramic view of the city and
Coral Sea, before continuing through lush tropical rainforest on to Lake
Morris where you can relax over morning tea. Leaving the Dam
behind, engage 4 Wheel Drive to tackle the Clohesy River Road.
This narrow track winds through World Heritage Rainforest, over
sparkling creeks and rugged terrain. Visit giant strangler fig
trees and strange termite mounds. Your experienced driver/guide will
introduce you to the mysteries of the rainforest.Then drive down the Kuranda Range to Caravonica Lakes, where you will join Skyrail to Kuranda, where there is 2 hours free time to explore, before boarding the Kuranda Scenic Rail for travel to Freshwater. This is one of the world’s most scenic train routes, travelling from the tropical rainforest of Kuranda to the cane fields of Cairns. Upon arrival at Freshwater Station, your coach will be waiting to return you to your accommodation. Please note: The 4WD portion of the tour may be changed without
