How to get to Mornington Wilderness Camp

By Road:  Mornington Wilderness Camp is open to visitors between April and November, local conditions permitting.  It is accessed by road from the Gibb River Road and the turn off is 248 km from Derby or 468 from Broome.  From the turn off, it is 91 km south to Mornington Wilderness Camp.

By air
:  The camp has a 1000m airstrip. There are no scheduled flights and access would be by special charter, prices upon request.

Termite mounds< Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary © Mornington Wilderness CampLocated in the heart of the Kimberley, Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary covers more than 3000 square kilometres of spectacular gorges and tropical savannah dominated by the Fitzroy River and King Leopold Ranges.  Owned and managed by the non-profit Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), Mornington Wilderness Camp provides a comfortable base from which to explore this remarkable sanctuary.

AWC provides a number of modestly priced day trips (payable at the camp) to make sure you get the most out of the area and its remarkable plant, bird and animal life. 

For the adventurous traveller, this is a unique opportunity to experience one of Australia's leading wilderness camps whilst also helping to save Australia's endangered wildlife.

Mornington Wilderness Camp has 10 safari style tents, each with an en suite and a  private balcony overlooking picturesque Annie Creek.  The spacious tents are comfortably furnished with quality beds and linen, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and laundry services.  

The camp also has a shady, grassed, creek side campground and a visitor information area is situated near the bush restaurant.
 

Dining at Mornington Wilderness Camp

The camp's Redtails Restaurant  provides a pleasant setting for meals.  In the evening, relax and enjoy a first rate dinner accompanied by premium Western Australian wines.  Dinner is often followed by a presentation on the conservation programs at Mornington.
 

Nightly Rate
Nightly prices are shown with or without meals - it is recommended that guest stay for a minimum of 2 nights to make your stay worthwhile.   The camp is closed between 1 November and 31 March.
