Day 1: Broome to Bungle Bungle Ranges (LD)
Travel through the vast Kimberley outback to Purnululu National Park, recently listed as a World Heritage site. This spectacular wilderness park is the home of the Bungle Bungle Range. More than 20 million years of erosion and river movements have formed these huge black and orange striped domes. Travelling via Fitzroy Crossing and Halls Creek you tackle the rugged 4-wheel drive track into the national park, arriving late afternoon at the Bungle Bungles. Here you enjoy a 2 night stay in the heart of this World Heritage wilderness.
Accommodation: Bungle Bungle Bushcamp, safari tents, share bathroom facilities. Please note there are no facilities to charge camera's etc (no powerpoints) at Bungle Bungle Bushcamp.

Day 2: Bungle Bungle Ranges (BLD)
Today you have the day to explore the Bungle Bungle Ranges with your first stop at the stunning Echidna Chasm known for towering Livistonia Palms, here you can take an easy to medium 2 km walk. Then travel to the southern side of the Bungle Bungles Massif where you take an easy to moderate 3 km walk into the natural amphitheatre setting of Cathedral Gorge - try out the acoustics within this natural amphitheatre! Also while here an easy-paced walk along the dry bed of Piccaninny Creek is the best way to inspect the domes up close. This afternoon you have the option to take a scenic helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles (approx. $295pp, own expense), experience the thrill of taking off in a helicopter and enjoy views into incredible ravines and gorges below. Enjoy drinks as the sun sets over the Bungles, before returning to camp for dinner.
Accommodation: Bungle Bungle Bushcamp

Day 3: Bungle Bungles to Fitzroy Crossing (BLD)
Travel back along the rugged Bungles track and then onto Fitzroy Crossing, arriving at Geikie Gorge to enjoy a picnic lunch. Join the National Park Ranger for a fascinating cruise which takes us down the mighty Fitzroy river through Geikie Gorge, with the chance to spot geological sea fossils, crocodiles, exotic birds and other natie animals. From here it's only a short drive to the Fitzroy River Lodge for your overnight stay. Tonight get to know your fellow travellers while enjoying a campfire barbeque dinner prepared by your driver/guide.
Accommodation: Fitzroy River Lodge, furnished safari cabins with private en suite bathroom

Day 4: Fitzroy Crossing to Broome (BL)
Your first stop is at one of the Kimberley's most famous landmarks, the Prison Boab Tree, once used to hold indigenous people. Here you also view Myalls Bore, a 120 metre long trough built in the early 1900's used to water up to 500 head of cattle at one time. We then travel along the legendary 'Gibb River Road', once used as the main stock route for the region. Turn off to enjoy lunch and explore the pre-historic Windjana Gorge, regarded as one of the classic features of world geology and a great freshwater crocodile spotting site. From here you head to Tunnel Creek, an amazing 750 metre long flooded tube tunnel. With torch in hand, take an exciting walk wading through the tunnel in knee to thigh high water and hear of the story of the renowned Aboriginal 'Jandamarra' who used the tunnel as a hide-out. Following afternoon tea, return to Broome with arrival approximately 10.30pm after an en route dinner stop (own expense).
NOTE: Accessing Tunnel Creek walk involves 20 metres of clambering over boulders and 700 metres of wading through knee to thigh high water (shorts are ideal). Strap on sandals or old sand shoes must be worn through the water to protect from the rocky creek bed. To safely navigate the Tunnel passengers must be able to walk and balance themselves independently on uneven ground. Flashlights and limited footwear is provided.
