Hiking in Katherine Gorge © Tourism Northern Territory A reasonably priced tour, the highlights of which include some of the most striking of the numerous waterfalls in Litchfield National Park,  en route to stunning Katherine Gorge and Mataranka thermal pool.  A day is also spent with local Aboriginal people in Manyallaluk, gaining an intriguing insight into their culture and traditional activities and skills.

Itinerary: Territory Highlights

Departs:  Between 6:30 & 7.00am from Darwin accommodation
Daily (except Thurs, Friday) - June, July, August
Monday only - April, May, September, October

Day 1   Litchfield National Park: Highlights today will include Magnetic Termite Mounds, the magnificent falls of Tolmer, Wangi, Florence and the truly beautiful Buley Rockhole. Enjoy lunch and a swim at the falls, before continuing to Katherine via Adelaide River. Lunch at Monsoons, Wangi Falls. Arrive in Katherine approximately 5:30pm.
Overnight Acommodation:  Katherine at Springvale Homestead or motel accommodation.
DAY 2   Katherine and Mataranka: Depart Katherine at approximately 8:00am for a memorable visit to Elsey National Park and swim in the magical Mataranka Thermal Pool. Visit Territory Manor and see the barramundi fish feeding show, Mataranka Homestead and the Elsey Replica - then back to Katherine in time to cruise on the famous Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge. Lunch is provided at the Territory Manor.
Overnight Accommodation:  Katherine as Day 1
DAY 3  Spend a day with the local Aboriginal people, sharing their culture and giving you a hands on experience that you will never forget. After a cup of billy tea, your Aboriginal guides will take you on a walk where you will see bush tucker and bush medicines in season.
There will be time for swimming in the spring fed waterhole before enjoying lunch of Kangaroo, Barramundi and lots more. Afternoon activities include traditional bark painting, fire lighting and basket weaving. Return to Katherine 5:30pm. Express Greyhound coach to Darwin Departing 6:50pm.
