Day 1: Alice Springs - Uluru Depart Alice Springs. Flanked by rugged hills and ridges, Alice Springs is the gateway to Central Australia. Iconic Uluru awaits with its ever-changing hues. Explore its vast base and discover ancient rock art and waterholes that bring life to the surrounding desert. Take some time to learn about one of the oldest cultures in the world and their relationship to Uluru, with a visit to a local cultural centre. | Day 2: Uluru - Kata Tjuta - Kings Creek Station View a spectacular sunrise to remember at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Hike through winding gorges and past sandstone domes in the Valley Of The Winds. Enjoy a traditional camp oven dinner cooked in the hot coals of the fire at the Kings Creek Cattle Station. Campsite with shared facilities Day 4: Wallace Rockhole to Alice Springs Visit Wallace Rockhole's ancient rock paintings and carvings with a knowledgeable local guide. There's also an opportunity to learn the special techniques behind traditional dot painting. Travel to the Western MacDonnell Ranges to explore the rich earthy beauty of Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap. Enjoy a peaceful picnic in the beautiful surroundings, and perhaps take a hike to spot local rock wallabies that inhabit the area. Say goodbye to new friends back in the outback town of Alice Springs, over a cold Australian beer. There is no included accommodation for tonight. |

share accommodationIn permanent tents with shared facilities. All of the tents have hard floors and real beds. Campsites have hot/cold running water, toilets and showers close by. Sleeping bags and sleep sheets are provided at no extra cost. A travel pillow and towel will be provided for you to use and keep for your future travels. Camp stretchers are also provided for adventurous travellers who want to sleep out under the stars. Small environmental lights are also provided within the tents. Power boards are available to recharge your camera battery packs in all the camps. All safari camps in the Northern Territory are permanent, so there is no hard work or setting up involved. However, to participate in this trip you must be prepared to assist with food preparation, dish washing, collecting firewood, etc - plus helping keep the campsite clean and tidy for the next group of travellers. The interactive nature of these tours is a key component to getting more in touch with nature, and the Australian culture – the more you put in the more you get out! Single travellers can pay extra for single occupancy of a tent, or can share with people of the same sex for the duration of the trip (although in some situations mixed-gender sharing might be necessary due to the group mix). Meals Most meals will be included - 3 Breakfasts, 4 Lunches, 3 Dinners (wine is served with evening meals). You may be required to share in cooking and shopping duties for the group's meals. When you are not camping you will have the freedom to decide where, what and with whom you eat. Allow A$100 for meals not included (A$75 for the 3 day tour). Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru Travel from modern-day Alice Springs to ancient Uluru. Along the way, make a stop at an outback camel farm. For those that are keen, there's the option to go for a short ride on one of these 'ships of the desert'. Continue on to a permanent campsite at Yulara for a tasty lunch. Spend time in the afternoon exploring Uluru. It'll be difficult not to be impressed by this massive rock that captivates with its size and vibrant colours. Walk the perimeter and learn about traditional Indigenous culture. At sunset, witness the rock's chameleon hues while sipping on a glass of bubbles. Day 2: Uluru - Kata Tjuta - Kings Creek Station ![]() Enjoy daybreak over Kata Tjuta, a truly special experience. Then head off on a eight km hike through the spectacular Valley of the Winds. In the afternoon travel through the red sand dunes on the way to Kings Creek Station where optional activities are abundant. Try a traditional camp oven dinner, cooked in the coals of the fire, before discovering the constellations of the desert sky during a star-gazing session. Fall asleep to the sounds of the Outback. Day 3: Kings Creek
- Kings Canyon - Alice SpringsThis morning visit breathtaking Watarrka National Park, home of Kings Canyon. There’s no rush, as you hike around the canyon rim viewing sites like the 'Lost City' and the 'Garden of Eden' (see photo of rock pool), as well as the striking North and South Walls. There are plenty of opportunities for photos. Return to Kings Creek Station for lunch before travelling through sand dune country as you head back to Alice Springs, arriving approx. 5.00pm. There is no accommodation included tonight |

The vehicles have limited space therefore please keep luggage to a minimum (i.e. a small soft bag). What to bring. You will need the following: water bottle, flash light, toiletries and items of a personal nature, hat, sturdy walking shoes, sun screen, camera and film, warm clothing for night time in winter months and wet weather gear. |
