1. PERTH and NEARBY. The stunning Swan River, colourful Fremantle port, Rottnest Island and the Swan Valley wineries all combine to make Perth a great holiday centre. The unique limestone Pinnacles and mighty Wave Rock are other nearby highlights
2. SOUTH WEST WA. Highlights include Margaret River and its superb wineries, karri and jarrah forests, pictuesque Albany, Esperance and a beautiful coastline
3. WA GOLDFIELDS and NULLARBOR. The old gold mining centres of Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie are gateways to the wide open spaces of the Nullarbor Plain
4.CORAL COAST. Shark Bay, 830kms north of Perth, is a World Heritage-listed area of zoological importance. Further north is Ningaloo Reef, accessed from Exmouth or Coral Bay
5. PILBARA. An area rich in the natural resources of oil, gas and iron ore which have given rise to the busy ports of Port Hedland and Karatha. The region also has stunning scenery like the Hammersley Ranges and the Karijini and Millstream-Chichester National Parks
6. KIMBERLEY and NORTH WEST WA. In the remote north is some of Australia’s most spectacularly rugged landscape, including the startling Bungle Bungle massif. Broome and Kununurra are the main gateway towns to the region
