WEATHER in New South Wales + ACT

Much of New South Wales has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons but the northern coastal areas are more sub tropical, often with heavy summer rain and sunny, drier winters. Broadly speaking, the further north you travel in the state the higher the temperatures. Sydney has a pleasant climate with mild winters and an excellent summer, mostly bright and sunny and normally not too hot (although temperatures can reach 40C at times). Canberra has a climate which is more akin to northern Europe with a normally mild summer and a cold winter.
