1. AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY (ACT) including CANBERRA  Canberra is the national capital of Australia. It has a beautiful man made lake and some superb attractions
2. SYDNEY and NEARBY  One of the world’s great cities, built around a beautiful harbour with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House as iconic symbols. Has superb beaches
3. BLUE MOUNTAINS  World Heritage-listed area west of Sydney, set high on a sandstone plateau with sheer cliffs, canyons, waterfalls, forested valleys and abundant native wildlife
4. HUNTER VALLEY  Acclaimed wine region located around 200 kms north of Sydney
5. SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS  Gentle rolling hills and attractive pioneering towns south of Sydney
6. SNOWY MOUNTAINS  South west of Sydney; a walkers paradise in summer and a scenic ski area in winter
7. SOUTH COAST NSW  Beach and nature lover's mecca, largely free of high rise commercialism
8. CENTRAL + NORTH COAST NSW  Ranges from a blue water, sandy beach paradise to a sub tropical region backed by World Heritage-listed national parks and rainforests
9. NEW ENGLAND + NORTH WEST  Inland pastoral plateau area with attractive market towns and a range of national parks
10. INLAND NSW and OUTBACK including BROKEN HILL  Broken Hill was built on the riches of silver mining and remains a draw for devotees of Federation architecture. Nearby is the Outback with some good Aboriginal rock art. Inland NSW covers a vast area of mainly pastoral country including the Riverina
11. NORFOLK and LORD HOWE ISLANDS  Tiny historic Norfolk is 1500km east of Brisbane. Beautiful Lord Howe is 700 km north east of Sydney and World Heritage-listed because of its birds, flora and coral reefs
