Day 1
Collect your rental vehicle in Melbourne and drive to Geelong and onward
to Apollo Bay, which
is on the Great Ocean Road. |

Day 2
Drive from Apollo Bay to Port Fairy. As you travel along the Great
Ocean Road there are some breathtaking vistas.
Huge rolling waves have carved spectacular shapes from the limestone
cliffs. The most
photographed are the Twelve Apostles (now somewhat depleted) and the Loch Ard Gorge (pictured).

Day 3
Leave Port Fairy and head inland for Halls Gap near the Grampians
National Park. On arrival in the Grampians you could consider a visit to
the Brambuk Aboriginal cultural Centre, catch superb views from
Reid Lookout and walk to The Balconies. See McKenzie Falls
(pictured) and picnic at Zumsteins, a delightful spot which
abounds with kangaroos and koalas.

Day 4
Depart Halls Gap for Coonawarra/Naracoorte in South Australia.

Leave your accommodation in Coonawarra/Naracoorte and head for Adelaide.
If you are not in a rush, you can take the road along the landward edge
of the vast wetland area of the Coorong. Drop off your rental vehicle in
Adelaide.
