Day 1
Collect your rental vehicle in Launceston and spend the rest of the day at
leisure in the area. Stay overnight in the beautifully restored
City Park Grand Hotel (previously the Prince Albert Inn), which offers the style and grace of the 1850s with
all the facilities the modern traveller has come to expect.

Day 2
Today leave Launceston and drive east to St Helens via Scottsdale. From the sand dunes of St Helens Point, drive
south through
the Chain of Lagoons to Bicheno and Freycinet National Park.
The
east coast is a ribbon of beaches, granite outcrops and deserted
coves. Continue south to the pioneering town of Swansea.

Day 3
Leave Swansea and drive to Hobart, perhaps with a detour to the Tasman
Peninsula and Port Arthur.

Day 4
Drop off your hire car in Hobart. You can add extra nights at your
historic hotel if you wish to stay longer.
