Day 1
Collect your rental vehicle in Sydney and drive to Jervis Bay via
the Royal National Park, Australia's first national park. At
Kiama, stop to have a look at the amazing blowhole. If
weather conditions mean that the blowhole is not performing to
it's full capacity, there is a smaller blowhole further along the
coast - ask for directions at the Visitor Information Centre
near the main blowhole. If time
permits, a inland detour into the Kangaroo Valley offers some
beautiful scenery.
Overnight: Dolphin Sands Bed and Breakfast (Queen Garden Room or Twin Garden Room -
includes breakfast) |

|
Day 2
Leave your accommodation and drive to Tilba Tilba, a magnet for visitors with its working village atmosphere and variety of excellent produce and wares.
Just south of Central Tilba, Foxglove Spire Gardens are stunning and a
stroll though these beautiful woodland gardens is well worthwhile.
Overnight:
The Bryn at Tilba Bed and Breakfast (includes breakfast) |

|
|
Day 3
Today drive from Tilba Tilba to Gipsy
Point in Victoria. Starting off, there is a very scenic route with
spectacular coastal view via Bemagui and Tathra. Further on there some
more great ocean vistas if you take another detour off the highway
through Merimbula and Pambula.
Overnight: Gipsy Point Lakeside Apartment (includes
continental breakfast hamper)
Day 4
|
|
Drive from Gipsy Point to Swan Reach, near Metung, on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes.
If time permits,
a scenic diversion is around the Cape Conran coast road to the
mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo - don't miss the quirky Marlo Cinema
building if you do!. Continue on to Lakes Entrance and then
to Metung where a vast inland system of rivers, lakes and lagoons are
set inland from the Ninety Mile Beach. |
 |
|
Overnight:
Chestnut Hill Country Retreat, Swan Reach (includes breakfast).
Note: Queen size bed in room - no twin rooms available.
Day 5
Drive on to Melbourne where you drop off your hire car. You should
have plenty of time to cross the bridge at San Remo and spend some time
on Phillip Island. Prior to this there is also an opportunity to
travel along the South Gippsland Highway and then detour down to Tidal
River on the Wilsons Promontory National Park, which is the most
southerly point on mainland Australia and offers sensational unspoiled
vistas. Calling at Wilsons Prom does make for a long day however.
