The Overland commenced service in 1887, pioneering inter-capital rail travel, 
and remains a stylish and comfortable way to travel between Melbourne and Adelaide. It now operates as a daylight service only, enabling you to see the beautiful country scenery en route.
  

Departure Times - The Overland
All times are local times and may be subject to change.  Extra Overland services may operate on Public Holidays.  Enquire at time of booking.  
The Overland now operates as a daylight service in both directions between Adelaide and Melbourne (departs Mon/Wed/Fri from Adelaide to Melbourne, and Tue/Thu/Sat from Melbourne to Adelaide). 
The Overland is not an express train as it makes up to 7 stops en route.

Travel in Comfort
Red Premium Service offers travellers excellent personal space.  Guests can move around the train and stretch their legs or visit the licensed Café Carriage to meet fellow travellers and socialise.

Passengers can stroll to the licensed Café Carriage for meals or drinks including espresso coffee.  If you don’t want to leave your seat, enjoy an a la carte meal, snack or drink from the catering trolley which passes through the train on a regular basis.
