Kimberley Wilderness Cruise (Hunter River to Wyndham) 6 Nights - Sample Itinerary
Please Note:  The above itinerary is provided as an example only – tide and prevailing conditions may cause variation.
Please note:  Your domestic flights into and out of Kununurra are not included - just the helicopter and light aircraft transfer ex Kununurra to the True North
Day One
:
You will be transferred by light aircraft from Kununurra to the spectacular Mitchell Plateau.  Here you will join your first flight in the air-conditioned/leather seated luxury of True North's Bell 407 helicopter.  After flying over theMitchell Falls you will begin to explore the very remote Hunter. Your transfer to the True North will be over a stunning river system that is lined with dense mangrove forests, surrounded by rainforest covered mountains and home to man-eating crocodiles.
Once onboard there will be time to settle into your cabin and, to sample the True North’s famous cuisine!
Then it’s back to the business of adventure. The Hunter has it all - fishing, mud crabbing, bird-watching and simply exploring. Join one of the expedition boats, take a short hike to Jackson Falls and there’s even more splendour from the helicopter!
Hopefully you’ll have time for a sunset drink on Naturaliste Island and then it’s an overnight cruise to the Mitchell River.
Day Two:
Today you can join an expedition boat to Surveyors Creek for a wonderful crocodile-free swim.  If you enjoy fishing, the Mitchell River is famed for its big barramundi and the helicopter will be in action again for scenic flights.
Then, join the crew for cocktail hour before dinner, complimented by a leisurely cruise to Vansittart Bay.
Day Three:
Today you will have an opportunity to see Bradshaw art - ancient rock art that pre-dates other examples of Aboriginal culture.
Next a delicious heli-picnic at Eagle Falls and then you can explore local beaches and rivers using the tenders, including an isolated site in the rainforest where a WWII bomber crashed.
This morning you can fish and explore the Drysdale River and then on to yet another mighty Kimberley river, the King George.  As soon as the tide is high enough, you'll cross the sand bars at the mouth  and journey upstream to the King George Falls (pictured) to drop anchor at the base of the Twin Falls with endless places to explore. You can climb or take the helicopter to the top of the falls for a cruise highlight!
Visit waterholes, swim at “The Crevice” or just relax with a drink whilst eating fresh oysters off the rocks, with a fancy dress party to look forward to tonight!

Day Five:
A morning at the Falls and then a visit to Koolama Bay – where you’ll learn about the wreck of the Koolama.  At Tranquil Bay go ashore for a relaxing beach walk before continuing on to the Berkeley River.
Day Six:
Today there are lots of fishing and exploring opportunities. Then True North takes advantage of the high tide and  makes for the Cambridge Gulf and your destination, Wyndham.
Day Seven
Your courtesy coach will arrive at approximately 0800 hours for transfer to Kununurra where your cruise concludes and the crew will already be looking forward to the next opportunity to welcome you aboard the TRUE NORTH!
