The Kimberley is as remote as it is immense and rugged, making it challenging to explore. Taking to the air enables you to gain an appreciation of the sheer size of the terrain and the stark beauty that has been carved out over millennia.

1. Kimberley HIGHLIGHTS Air Safari  - 2 nights/3 full days

Flight paths tailored to take in the most spectacular views in the region

Departs Kununurra at 6am -  Sun, Wed, Fri - May to September
Optional helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls Availability: On request May to September, minimum of 2 persons, maximum 8
Baggage: 1 x 10kg soft pack bag per person.

DAY ONE - Kununurra to Mitchell Plateau
This tour departs from Kununurra by light aircraft after an early morning pickup from your accommodation.
Ungolan Safari Camp Arriving at the Mitchell Plateau Airstrip, you are met by your guide and taken to the Ungolan Safari Camp for breakfast. Depart from Ungolan by 4WD vehicle to the Mitchell Falls, where you will take a guided tour of not only the falls, but also the many Aboriginal art sites that are located within the area.
After lunch at the Falls and a refreshing swim, you will then have the opportunity to either walk out of the falls or take one of the (optional) spectacular helicopter flights that are available at extra cost.

DAY TWO - Ungolan Safari Camp to Kununurra
After breakfast, fly back to Kununurra and settle into your accommodation before being collected by coach at 1130hrs for your drive to Lake Argyle. ( Make sure you have an early lunch before your pick up). Visit the Durack Homestead Museum and the Lake Argyle Village. Cruise from the Ord Dam to experience the ever changing landscape as you travel from the beauty of the gorge country down to the floodplains of Lake Kununurra. The cruise finishes in Lily Creek Lagoon around sunset.
Afternoon tea is included but lunch and dinner are at your own expense.

Flying over the Bungle Bungles, Kimberley area, WADAY THREE - Bungle Bungle and Argyle Diamond Mine
Your flight path to the Bungle Bungles (Punululu National Park) includes Lake Kununurra, Diversion Dam, Ord Irrigation Area and Lake Argyle. Fly over cattle station country before landing at Purnululu airstrip, transfer to your helicopter for an exhilarating 30 min low-level flight over the Bungle Bungles. Departing Purnululu by aeroplane, orbit the Argyle Diamond Mine before landing. Enjoy a 3.5-4 hour guided ground tour of the mine which is located at the traditional Barramundi (Daiwul) Dreaming site at Barramundi Gap which sits directly on the Argyle Kimberlite pipe on the eastern end of the southern Blatchford Escarpment.
Argyle Diamond Mine Your guided tour commences with a tasty and generous buffet lunch at the Staff Village and a visit to the Village Store where souvenirs and Argyle Diamonds may be purchased. We then commence the drive through the processing plant (Designated Area). Observe the mine’s open cut operations from a well-positioned viewing platform and visit the diamond and local history display gallery - you will be given an information sheet and diamond gift pack. Re-board your aeroplane at the conclusion of your ground tour for the return trip to Kununurra via Lake Argyle and the bordering Carr Boyd Range.
Your safari ends at the conclusion of your flight and when you are dropped back to your accommodation.
 

2. Kimberley MITCHELL PLATEAU Air+4WD Safari  - 1 night

You will embark on an 8.00am flight to Kununurra, arriving at approximately 9.30am where this short but spectacular tour concludes (B)
