This
stylish adventure combines two days of aerial touring in your own
chartered aircraft with three days of exploration by 4WD. You
will get the chance to slake your thirst at characterful establishments in
the outback when you take this journey through the folklore and history of Australia.

DAY 1:
Your
tour begins when you are collected from your central Adelaide hotel to
begin a 4WD Drive from Adelaide to Wilpena Pound (pictured right) via the Clare Valley
and the Southern Flinders Ranges, passing through historic settlements.
Lunch today is at the oldest pub in the Flinders Ranges, The North Star
Hotel.
Your overnight accommodation will be at Wilpena Pound Resort
(L)
DAY 2:
Today you fly to Andamooka for a short tour of this unique Opal
mining town, followed by a flight to William Creek Hotel for lunch
(see picture below, left).
After lunch, fly over the amazing Lake Eyre with its sparkling
white salt pans and over the Channel Country to Birdsville.
Your overnight accommodation is at the Birdsville Hotel,
established in 1884 (pictured below, right) (BL).

DAY 3:
Today you visit the Birdsville Working Museum\followed by a flight to
Innamincka for lunch. Visit the famous Burke and Wills Dig
Tree and then fly to Arkaroola in the Gammon Ranges.
Your overnight accommodation will be Arkaroola Resort. (BL)

DAY 4:
In the morning you will go on the famous Ridgetop 4WD tour
(pictured), followed by lunch at Arkaroola before departing in
your 4WD via Northern Flinders Ranges gorges to Blinman, an old
copper mining town.
Your overnight accommodation will be the Blinman Hotel (BL)
DAY 5:
Today you begin the return to civilization. Drive
through tree lined Brachina Gorge where you may spot the rare
and beautiful Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies, to the western edge
of the Flinders Ranges. Then as you travel towards Adelaide, the
rich pastoral land contrasts sharply with the arid lands you
have just been into. Your adventure has taken you through the
extremes of the Australian Outback. (BL)

Please note: Light aircraft operators are very stringent about
weight limits. Luggage is restricted to 15kg per person. This is a
safety issue. The Australian summer is very hot, especially in the
outback. The aircraft and hotels are air-conditioned. All the same, the
outside temperatures often remain above 40°C during the day between
November and February. Maximum 10 passengers. Itineraries and
services may vary without notice to take advantage of special events or
other enhancements.
