River Cruising by Paddlewheeler in South Australia
7, 4 and 3 Night Cruises on the Murray River
Scroll down for Itineraries and Price Panel ..
The Murray is the world's fifth largest river and flows more than 3,000 kilometres across one third of the Australian continent from its source in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, to the Southern Ocean near Adelaide.  It is a haven for over 350 species of birds such as the majestic sulphur crested cockatoo and is an outback oasis for  fascinating wildlife including kangaroos, goannas, black swans, pelicans and the legendary Murray Cod.
The paddle steamer is a fundamental part of Australia's heritage.  The Murray was a lifeline for pioneers who lived on the driest continent on earth and over 200 paddle steamers once plied the river day and night, negotiating hidden reefs, massive sandbars and treacherous passages.
Cruising on the Murray today, you'll explore a timeless landscape, observe fascinating native wildlife at close hand, visit historic river ports and ancient aboriginal sites. Join the fun at a traditional campfire barbecue, a guided riverbank walk and the Captain's dinner. On the Murray River you will cruise through miles of ancient gorges, discover golden sandstone cliffs towering over blue-green lagoons, majestic red gum forests under endless blue skies and see green irrigated farmlands against red desert plains.
