Departing from and returning to Sydney, this classic route takes in Longreach, Mt Isa, Arnhemland and Kakadu, Broome and the Kimberley and the Red Centre .  You cruise by air in a private 36 seater Dash 8 aircraft.  There are no long drives and you arrive on the doorstep each time.

Itinerary - Australian Highlights Air Cruise:

Day 1 - Sydney/"Stockman's Hall of Fame"/Longreach
The  journey begins aboard your exclusive aircraft flying north to the remote Queensland township of Longreach. This town has an impressive history and is the home of the Stockman's Hall of Fame, a magnificent museum constructed as a tribute to the Australian pioneers.

Day 2 - Mt Isa
Re-boarding the aircraft this morning, experience the true concept of air cruising. There are no check-in formalities and no baggage handling, everything is taken care of. The flight today crosses the vast landscape of the Channel Country. Arrive at Mt Isa, where the commercial development has been largely due to the mineral wealth of the area. A surface inspection of the mine and surrounding areas gives you an idea of the complexity  of such a project and the organisation needed.

Cruise on Katherine Gorge

Day 3 - Katherine Gorge/Kakadu National Park
Your aircraft takes you to the Northern Territory to the township of Katherine for a cruise through the magnificent Katherine Gorge. Carved by the Katherine River over millions of years, the gorge system reveals the diverse flora and fauna of this outstanding National Park. Continue on to Arnhemland to the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Spectacular low aerial sightseeing provides unsurpassed viewing of the Arnhemland escarpment with its intruding gorges and abrupt cliff faces. A cruise on Yellow Waters Lagoon allows a closer inspection of one of the richest biological areas in Australia.

Day 4 - Kakadu National Park/Darwin

Kakadu National park is home to the most outstanding concentration of Aboriginal art and history in Australia. This morning, cruise the East Alligator River. Examine some of the finest examples of Aboriginal art at Ubirr Rock. A short flight this afternoon to Australia's most northerly capital - Darwin.

Day 5 - Territory Wildlife Park
Today a visit to the Territory Wildlife Park. Set in 400 hectares of natural bushland, this stunning reserve provides a rare insight into a wide variety of unique Territory wildlife. A wonderful opportunity to observe wildlife at close range.

Day 6 - The Kimberley/Bungle Bungle National Park/Kununurra
Flying westward to the Kimberley region of Western Australia, the aircraft provides incredible low aerial 'flightseeing' over the Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park. Symmetrical in shape, these unusual beehive rock formations have received world recognition. Land at the headquarters of the Ord River Scheme, Kununurra, then cruise the beautiful Ord River through the stunning escarpment areas of the Kimberley.

Day 7 - North West Coastline/Buccaneer Archipelago/Broome
Tourists on camel ride on Cable Beach Once again your aircraft provides spectacular views over the far north west coastline and the Mitchell Plateau. Enjoy a bird's eye view of this elusive but beautiful area where the rugged giant gulfs have a tidal range of over nine metres. Finally land at the historic pearling town of Broome.

Day 8 - Broome
Explore the township of Broome, established in the romantic days of the flourishing pearling industry at the turn of the century. Enjoy sunset over magnificent Cable Beach.

Day 9 - Uluru (Ayers Rock)/Kata Tjuta (Olgas)
Re-joining our exclusive aircraft this morning, head east across this huge continent to the heart of Australia. Experience spectacular low aerial 'flightseeing' as the massive monolith of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) dominate the surrounding desert plains. This evening enjoy the vivid and changing colours of the Rock as the sun sets.

Kata Tjuta (Olgas) Day 10 - Uluru (Ayers Rock)/Alice Springs
This morning travel to the Olgas to explore the thirty six conglomerate domes known to the Aborigines as Kata Tjuta. The aircraft awaits to fly you to Alice Springs, the most famous of all Australian outback towns, lying at the foot of the northern slopes of the MacDonnell Ranges.

Day 11 - Alice Springs

Today is spent sightseeing in and around The Alice.  Visit the institutions that have made Alice Springs famous over the years, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Old Telegraph Station.

Day 12 - Alice Springs/Birdsville/Sydney
Today  the aircruise ends, but not without landing first to visit Australia's most famed outback pub. Situated on the historic Birdsville Track, since 1885 the Birdsville Hotel has been the meeting point and customs station for all the drovers passing through. Sadly this will be a farewell drink at the end of a memorable adventure.
