Freycinet Lodge has successfully integrated superb accommodation with the environment. It has 60 tastefully appointed cabins thoughtfully located in a secluded bushland setting inside Freycinet National Park.  The national park is home to many native animals and birds and these can be seen in their natural surroundings close to the cabins.  Within close walking distance of the Lodge is a panoramic view of Wineglass Bay - voted one of the top ten beaches in the world.  Walks with a qualified guide are available from the lodge, to learn about the plants and animals in Freycinet National Park and the history and geography of the area.

Location and Access of Freycinet Lodge ...
Freycinet Lodge is easily accessed by road, approximately 2.5 hours drive from Hobart.

The Freycinet Peninsula is a National Park and projects eastward from the Tasmanian mainland.   It is a unique and exciting wilderness containing a melting pot of natural habitats. Craggy granite peaks thrust dramatically from the ocean, overlooking sandy white beaches and crystal blue water - a dramatic backdrop for an unusual variety of eco-systems ranging from wetlands through heathlands, coastal dunes, dry eucalypt forests to the underwater magic of these southern temperate oceans.

Tasmania has a cooler climate than mainland Australia and average temperatures range from 22 degrees Centigrade in  summer (January) to 13 degrees Centigrade in winter (July).

Restaurants at Freycinet Lodge ....
The Bay Restaurant is located in the main Lodge building with a panoramic view of Great Oyster Bay at sunset. It is open daily for evening meals. The menu includes prime Tasmanian sea and farm produce. An extensive wine list features the best of Tasmanian wine from small, local producers. There is seating for around 100 guests, in winter providing a cosy atmosphere around an impressive stone open fireplace.

Richardson's Bistro takes its name from the adjoining beach, which sweeps in an arc around the waters of Coles Bay. Richardson's Bistro is open for breakfast and lunch and in peak season, for dinner as well. It offers casual dining at reasonable prices. Guests can enjoy the sounds of a busy open kitchen and the aroma of freshly prepared meals while they enjoy the view of waves breaking on Richardson's Beach.

Hazards Bar and Lounge is a great place to swap stories or read a book by the open wood fire in winter. Most evenings you can join a wine tasting group to meet fellow guests and sample some of Tasmania's best wines and beers.
