ITINERARY - Southern Reef and Rainforest: 4 Nights 
DAY 1:  Hervey Bay - Lady Elliot Island (D)
The trip begins with a 35 minute scenic flight from Hervey Bay to Lady Elliot Island (departing 10.40am and 3pm daily).  At Lady Elliot you will be met by island activity staff for orientation.  Collect your snorkel, flippers and mask from the Dive Shop.  Your afternoon is at leisure to snorkel in the lagoon or coral gardens.  Enjoy a buffet dinner in the dining room and if you like, take part in one of the evening activities which might include presentations in the Education Centre and turtle viewing (in season).

DAY 2:  Lady Elliot Island (B,D)
Take an early morning snorkel or walk around the island before a full buffet breakfast on the deck overlooking the coral lagoon.  Free activities during the day include a reef walking tour (tide dependent), island discovery and history walk and a combined glass bottom boat tour/snorkel.  You can also try scuba diving. Although use of snorkel equipment is free, the hiring of dive equipment and complete instruction from  the PADI dive shop are extra and are subject to medical fitness.

DAY 3:  Lady Elliot Island - Hervey Bay - Fraser Island (B)
Full buffet breakfast is included and your flight to Hervey Bay departs at approximately 9.00 am or 2.00 pm.  Upon arrival you will be met by the courtesy coach and transferred to the marina for the Fraser Island passenger catamaran to Kingfisher Bay.  You have the afternoon at leisure to explore the resort, swim in the heated pool, go bush walking or try your luck fishing.  Each evening the resort offers an optional ranger guided activity, for example a night spotlighting tour.

DAY 4:  Fraser Island (B)
Take an optional bird watching walk before a country style hot buffet breakfast in the Maheno Restaurant.  A full day 4WD tour of Fraser Island is available at extra cost (book the night before), visiting beautiful lakes, freshwater streams, the endless ocean beach and stunning inland rainforests.  

DAY 5:  Fraser Island - Hervey Bay (B)
After breakfast in the Maheno Restaurant, you can choose your departure time on the passenger catamaran which departs Fraser Island at 7.40am, 10.30am, 2.00pm and 5.00pm daily.  The journey takes 30 minutes.  The tour ends at Hervey Bay Marina and a courtesy coach to Hervey Bay Airport is available if required.

There is a strict 10 kg baggage limit on the flight from Hervey Bay to Lady Elliot.  Storage of excess baggage is available. 
Note:  ~ the Reef and Rainforest package is not available between 15 Dec '07 and 15 Jan '08 and 16 Dec '08 and 29 Jan '09 
          ~ all activities are subject to weather and tides
          ~ a Marine Park tax of approx. A$5 per person, per day for the first three days, is payable at Hervey Bay airport
