Kingfisher Bay is a modern resort on the sheltered, western side of
Fraser Island opposite the Hervey Bay coast. It has been sympathetically designed
utilising land previously used for old logging activities and
now restored with imaginative planting of native shrubs
and trees.

Getting to Kingfisher Bay Resort
|
Most international passengers would take a ferry crossing near Hervey Bay to Fraser Island, although it is
possible to fly by helicopter from Hervey Bay.
The Kingfisher Ferry has 6 services to the resort each day from River Heads and return. Urangan Boat Harbour
at Hervey Bay is a meeting point for passengers travelling on the Kingfisher Ferry - you will be shuttled to meet your ferry.
Hervey Bay can
be accessed easily by:
|
- The Tilt Train from Brisbane's Roma Street Station (Roma Street
Transit Centre)
- Self driving; There is secure parking near the harbour for approx
A$6 - A$12 per day, payable at source.
- By bus from Brisbane (Roma Street Transit Centre) and from the
Sunshine Coast resorts
- Flying to Hervey Bay
|
|
Since there are a number of ferry crossings each day, it would be
possible to arrive or depart by Tilt Train or bus to Brisbane on the
same day if you were staying at Kingfisher. Passengers wishing to
arrive and depart by air would need to check flight times at the time of
booking but both same-day arrivals and departures by air should
be possible for Kingfisher guests.
Kingfisher Bay will organize complimentary transfers from Hervey Bay
airport and from the bus station to Urangan Boat Harbour by prior
arrangement. (Tilt Train passengers connect from the station at
Maryborough to Hervey Bay bus station by a shuttle bus)
