The township of Mission Beach, with its cafes, restaurants, art galleries and shops, is approximately one and a half hours by road south of Cairns.  Castaways is the only absolute beach front resort on the 14 km long golden beach backed by rainforest.  All rooms enjoy water views from windows, balconies or ground floor courtyards and are fully serviced daily.  This is good value accommodation, good for families and couples alike, in a lovely beach setting.
The beach is netted for stingers (the jelly fish found in northern parts from late October until early May) enabling you to swim in the sea here all the year round.

Accommodation grade category is Standard.   Castaways offer spacious standard hotel rooms and one and two bedroom self contained units.  There is one fully accessible hotel room for those with limited mobility.  All rooms enjoy water views from windows, balconies or ground floor courtyards and are fully serviced daily.

The Moonglow Restaurant
The Moonglow serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. It has an a la carte menu with professional chefs preparing fresh local produce.
Elephant Bar
Relax with a cocktail at the bar or beside the pool, at the end of a day on the reef or in the rainforest .
