Day 3:
Gold Coast – Fraser Island
Travel along the Gold Coast to Brisbane for an orientation tour of
the city and learn about opals. Continue on to Hervey Bay
for the ferry crossing to Fraser Island, renowned for unique beauty and
ecology, the island is now protected as a World Heritage Area.
Accommodation: Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village, Fraser Is., 2

Day 4: Fraser Island Adventure
Today join your 4WD vehicle for half day tour of the island. Marvel
at the majestic rainforest at Central Station. Visit Lake McKenzie, one
of the island's beautiful freshwater lakes, surrounded by white sandy
beaches. There is also time to relax and enjoy the facilities of
Kingfisher Resort.

Day 5: Rockhampton
Return to the mainland and stop at Langmorn Station, a fully operational
cattle station. Enjoy afternoon tea at the homestead (pictured), a restored
'Queenslander', built in 1873. Cross the Tropic of Capricorn
and continue to Rockhampton, Dine out this evening, on crocodile,
of course, at the Koorana Crocodile Farm, home to 3,000 crocodiles

Day 6: Brampton Island
Travel north to the marina at Mackay Australia's sugar capital, where
you board the catamaran for the cruise to Brampton island, a large and
beautiful National Park Island located at the southern end of the
Whitsunday Passage. Tonight enjoy dinner at the Bluewater
Restaurant.

Day 7: Brampton Island
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Brampton Island. There is an
opportunity to take an interpretive nature walk around the island.
There are sailboarding and catamaran classes, beach volleyball, tennis,
golf or snorkelling. Or just laze by the fress or saltwater pools
and enjoy a rejuvenating massage.

Day 8: Townsville
Departing by catamaran, rejoin your coach heading north to the
tropical city of Townsville where you can enjoy a guided tour of
Billabong Sanctuary. This afternoon is free to relax or perhaps
take a stroll along The Strand with its excellent salt water rock
swimming pool.

Day 9: Atherton Tablelands
Journey north from Townsville, then climb the high tropical plateau
known as the Atherton Tablelands. Visit Millaa Millaa Falls and the
locally famous Curtain Fig Tree. Enjoy a guided cruise on Lake Barrine
in the Crater Lakes National Park , before
making your way to Port Douglas.

Day 10: Port Douglas
Enjoy a day at leisure in Port Douglas. There is an opportunity to
explore the World Heritage Rainforest, enjoy a walk along Four Mile
Beach, or just sit back and relax by the pool. (B)
Day 11: Great Barrier Reef Cruise
Join the
Reef Magic catamaran and cruise out to the Great
Barrier Reef. Enjoy a reef education presentation and view the
spectacular corals and tropical fish from the underwater observatory and
the semi-submersible craft. There is the opportunity to go snorkelling
and view this natural living wonder up close (equipment provided). There
is an included buffet lunch before returning to Cairns in the afternoon.

Day 12: Kuranda Railway – Skyrail – Tjapukai

Board the Kuranda train for a scenic journey through
the tropical countryside behind Cairns. Arrive at the cultural rainforest
village of Kuranda with time to wander through the various stalls of the
colourful Kuranda Markets. Later, board the Skyrail Cableway which takes
you above the canopy of the tropical rainforest of the Barron Gorge
National Park. Visit the internationally famous Tjapukai Aboriginal
Cultural Park. Experience the History, Creative and Dance theatres where
the legends of the Dreamtime become reality. (BD)
Day 13: Depart Cairns
Your tour concludes today after breakfast. You will be transferred to
Cairns Airport to connect with your onward flight (flights anytime). (B)
