Brief Descriptions
Truly Australia's chosen hotels and apartments are graded to give travellers an approximate idea of the quality of the accommodation: Budget/Tourist (2 - 2.5 star) Standard (3 star); First Class (4 star), Superior (4.5 star) and Deluxe (5 star). Some very individualistic hotels are classified as 'Boutique' or 'Small and Special' (normally these are 3.5 - 4.5 star ...) In Australia, the description 'Suite' does not necessarily mean
the accommodation has a separate bedroom.
MERCURE HOBART
Standard Grade. 140 rooms. Recently refurbished 4 star hotel. Has excellent facilities including bars, restaurants and a good location in the business district. Rooms have air-conditioning, mini bar, TV, pay-per-view movies, radio, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities.
THE OLD WOOLSTORE:
Standard Grade. 242 rooms. Located close to the
waterfront within walking distance of the city centre. Has bar and
restaurant.. The rooms are a mix of hotel and apartment style room
configurations, all with air-conditioning, fridge, tea/coffee making,
iron, hairdryer.
HOTEL GRAND CHANCELLOR: First Class/Superior. 234 rooms. Central, on the waterfront
overlooking Constitution Dock, the final destination for yachts in the
famous Sydney-to-Hobart race. Rooms are air-conditioned with private
bathroom, TV, tea/coffee making, fridge, iron. Has restaurants, bars,
gym, sauna, heated indoor pool.
THE LODGE ON ELIZABETH:
Boutique accommodation. 13 rooms. Originally a grand
manor which was built by convicts in 1829. Central location within
an easy walk of restaurants and shops. Has jaccuzzi/spa and breakfast is available
if required. Rooms have TV, hairdryer, iron, fridge,
tea/coffee making but NOT air-conditioning. This is an adult
retreat offering a warm and personal service

Arthur tour: Departs daily except Saturdays at 8.15am (01 Oct - 30
Apr) and 9.15am (01 May - 30 Sep) and returns 5.00pm. Does not operate
on Christmas Day Full day Bruny Island Wilderness Coast: Departs daily except
Saturdays at 8.00am Oct-May only and returns 5.30pm. Does not operate on
Christmas Day
